Worth A Thousand Swear Words

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words… when one distorts a picture to create an image of something they long for, and finds themself horrified and disgusted by it, why are they not deterred from their longing?

Worth A Thousand Swear Words

I can barely bear to look at something so bare
Something so harsh, so blatant and gory
I can hardly glance at it, I can’t even stare
At this freakish perversion of the real story

And yet here I am, guilty as sin in the semi-dark
My signature on the abomination sitting right there
I catch myself red-handed on something so stark
On a dream that slid into a nightmare

And all horror and shocked disgust still fall short
I know I’ll still wish on every star in the sky
My locked door has a gap under it for this thought
Hope lives as a jagged twinkle in my eye.
