Poem: Escape
Published 1 year, 11 months ago in My life.Escape
I stumble, sprint, I trip, I lurch
And as I walk and limp, I search
I crawl through tunnels
Consume with funnels, all that’s fun
My mind is pummelled
By worlds beyond the picture frame
Where bad and great fuel the same flame
And blame and shame twist in the fire
Where horrid is not beyond desire
I jump to the next stepping stone
Beauty paints each fleeting home
Alone no more I fashion a war
And with all passion I ignore
The world that waits beyond the gates
(And grates and flakes
And fakes and takes)
To twirl along the tops of letters
Dressed in tatters, held by fetters
It matters not where I proceed
I bleed to feed this greed and need
And sew the seeds of all delight
To read whatever creed I sight
If right I might find fine release
And ease my mind to envy’s peace
Last but not least, all hopes deceased
Are reanimated by the feast
That enters through these eyes of mine
That can withstand the hands of time
And I’m a driver, without brakes
Hurtling through this outer space
To embrace the place like minds create
To play in these worlds that others make
And I say this day, of my escape
“I pray that I may fail to wake.”

I do enjoy your poetry m’am. You can write for me all day, everyday.
Aww, thanks!
That’s really nice of you to say!
