A Motivational Poem For Success

A Motivational Poem For Success

Hollywood takes our time, and money too
But don’t let them tell you what not to do
Ignore all their “can’t”s and “don’t”s
Their “shouldn’t”s, “couldn’t”s and their “won’t”s
They lie to sell their narrow world
To naive and trusting boys and girls
You must stay strong, believe in me
Not the cruel lies they feed you on TV
It was a road, they made it a path
Then a tightrope, can’t walk it? They just laugh
Because Hollywood wants us to be all the same
Just pretty clones in their ugly game.

Loved this, but you know what’s coming.

Then a tightrope, can’t walk it? They just laugh.

    Hhhhhmh!

Path and laugh dont really go that well, so why not brake the rule, and go with this one.

a row of bricks, very slick, but not a good trick

    Hhhhmh!

i struggled here, but, for what it is worth.

Yes, it’s sad when we finally come to the realization that Hollywood has lied to us all of our lives. When we have that rude awakening from the dream where we are talented, attractive, famous Miami pop stars that drive around the boulevards in convertible that our rich daddy gave us as a graduation present. Somehow the reality of life falls miles short when we end up working minimum-wage nightshift in a convenience store, always hoping not to get stabbed by a deranged junkie looking for cigarettes and money for a fix. If we want children to be happy about themselves and what they have, the last thing they should be doing is watching American television and movies.

If you like this sort of thing - perhaps you’d like to check out my mates publishing company - they do a lot of poetry publishing and festival work.

Torbinski - You should be a poet too! :) Although I have no problem with watching American TV, just as long as people know it’s not real…

2cool2blog - I’ll have a look at the website… I can’t say my poetry is that confronting though… maybe some depressing, but I keep it a bit flowery.

Theshadow (and Actual Shadow *pats Shadow*) - NOOK TV Sounds great, but awww, no violence? Not even cheesy fake violence? I’ve got this almost full tube of fake blood lying around my computer doing nothing. I could do violent poems! :D
Anything to keep fishcam off channel 31…

    Cheerio! Many many cheerios…
